The difference between oil massage and warm oil massage (Hot Oil Massage) is only the temperature of the oil used. With a standard oil massage, the temperature of the oil is equal to the ambient temperature. In a warm oil massage, the oil is heated to a temperature slightly above normal body temperature. If the temperature of the oil is between 40’C ~ ’50’C, it gives the most pleasant, relaxing and special feeling during the massage itself.
The massage technique and steps are the same for both massage types. Different types of oil can be used for this type of massage.
The type of oil used for the warm oil massage is the aromatherapy oils and the temperature of the oil should depend on the climate and weather and also on the temperament and disposition of the person undergoing the massage.
